Yes I did go against what I'd been advised and still I mucked about with modern YZ levers. Then one day I wondered why the V 75 clutch and brake felt so good. I put the original Amal lever assemblies back on and everything is in harmony now.....

Supplies a nice fat blue spark with no more key-way problems. Bike is like a very powerfull 250 now and will no doubt be a handfull on slick tracks!

Front plate is RM 1996 vintage. I hate fork boots but still wanted to protect the legs from rock damage. Also acts as good cable guide.

A must. Easy to jet, easy to start. You can also see the breathers from the clutch and gearbox. One also comes from the fly-wheel housing and are ran up to the air-box where they run through a small filter.

After changing over to the Mikuni carb, I found it hard to get the stock air-boot onto the back of the Mikuni. Jared put me onto these pod filters and they are great! Now i can turn the carb to do jetting changes without breaking the airbox/air-boot seal. They fit real good with a minor mod to the old air-boot and are less mess.

Great repo guards with very clean "M" embossed on rear. Will replace the front one for an '05 CR guard for racing as the CR guard doesn't flap around as much.

Making the Mikuni fit.......

Changing over to trhe Mikuni has one one problem in that the opening is smaller to the cylinder. I paid the price of having a bad fit to the rubber connector by dusting the motor and wrecking it! Again!!. So now we've had this ring press-fitted to the carby to take to 45mm. The same size as the Bing carb and giving a better seal.

Because I didn't have the OEM connector, I had this aluminium ring made to assist the flow through the connector. Now all I need is good fuel resistant 45mm hose and I have a great fit.

Here are the new Pro Racers on her. The springs that came with it were too heavy for me but now that I have the Gasser springs on them they're great! The comp and rebound dials are on standard as they were spot on for the first ride but I'll have a play with them over the next few weeks and see how much adjustment there is there.

I read that if I was running a PVL ignition that it would be benaficial to run an iridium plug. I tried it and I can tell you that the bike will start first time cold every time. I put the 40mm Bing back on and it was the same! Plug is NGK BR8EIX
